ADDITIONAL COVID19 HYGIENE PROTOCOL

Hygiene Updates:

On 15 March 2020, the President of the Republic of South Africa declared a national disaster. Part of the disaster management requirements ubclude the implementation of  increased hygiene measures and practicing strict social distancing.

Taking the lead from the relevant government authorities, the Aquila Collection will implement the following measures to increase distance between guests and improve guest hygiene:

  • Transfer Vehicles:
    1. The number of passengers will be limited to 8 per vehicle with immediate effect.
    2. We will continue to monitor all guests getting on board and we will implement an additional information form for all passengers to complete – these details will allow for more detailed contact information.
    3. All drivers will have hand sanitisers on board and it will be compulsory for all passengers to disinfect before entering and when exiting the transfer vehicles.
    4. All vehicles are cleaned and wiped before and after service.
  • Game Drives:
    1. Standard game viewing vehicles will have a restricted amount of passengers plus a guide. This will allow for ample space between guests to still enjoy the safari experience.
    2. Private game viewing vehicles will be restricted to 4 passengers plus a guide.
    3. All guides will have hand sanitisers on board and it will be compulsory for all passengers to disinfect before and after game drives.
    4. All vehicles are cleaned and wiped before and after service.
  • Communal areas
    1. Hand sanitiser and disinfectant products are freely available throughout the reserve and lodge area and all surfaces are cleaned, wiped and sanitised regularly.
    2. The restaurant areas will immediately space the seating arrangements to allow for social distancing between guests using the facilities.
    3. It will be compulsory for all back of house staff to wear medical gloves and all staff are screened regularly.

These guidelines and prohibitions are updated daily as we monitor the unfolding situation and take guidance from government and other health authorities. These restrictions are in the interest of the health and safety of all our staff, as well as our most valued guests.
