Aquila & Air France KLM Launch Cape Town Safari Roadshow in Europe

AQUILA COLLECTION AND AIR FRANCE KLM PRESENT THE CAPE TOWN SAFARI ROADSHOW ACROSS EUROPE

March 2025, Cape Town, South Africa.

In an extraordinary showcase of tourism collaboration, the Aquila Collection, in partnership with Air France KLM and supported by South African Tourism, recently concluded its latest highly successful Cape Town Safari Roadshow across Europe. The multi-city tour visited Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, promoting Cape Town as the unique global destination where visitors can experience wildlife safaris, world-class wine country, and breathtaking natural wonders – all accessible via one airport.

The dynamic roadshow, facilitated by Aquila’s European team: Red Elephant Reps, began in Germany with strategic engagements in Cologne and Bonn, creating vibrant interactions with the travel trade and media sectors. Moving onward to the picturesque canal-side venue, Saam in Amstelveen, delegates enjoyed an immersive evening of South African flavours paired with exquisite local wines, underscoring the captivating culinary appeal of the Western Cape. A highlight of the evening was awarding a lucky delegate with “The Ultimate Cape Town Safari Experience,” including return flights provided by KLM and a luxury stay spanning Aquila Collection properties, the Cape Winelands, and vibrant Cape Town city.

Antwerp presented another spectacular event held in an intimate, historic Belgian dungeon, reinforcing the profound cultural connections between Europe and South Africa. The Belgian market, having seen remarkable growth in visitor numbers over the past year, proved once again why Europe remains pivotal for Aquila Collection’s continued international market expansion. The emotional reaction of prize winners exemplified the power and allure of the Cape Town safari experience.

The roadshow culminated in Paris, just steps away from the iconic Louvre Museum, with an elegant gathering that celebrated Cape Town’s unique blend of wildlife, luxury, and urban sophistication. Guests were treated to insights into Aquila Collection’s evolving portfolio, from the well-established Aquila Private Game Reserve and the refined offerings at Inverdoorn to exciting forthcoming developments at Kuganha luxury tented camp. Again, the partnership between Aquila Collection and Air France KLM enabled another fortunate winner to personally discover Cape Town through a curated safari journey.

Johan van Schalkwyk, Commercial Officer of Aquila Collection, reflected: “This was more than a trade mission -it was a campaign built on connection. We didn’t just sell safaris; we shared the heart and soul of South Africa. Each event provided us invaluable insights into the desires and expectations of the European market, allowing us to personalise the Cape Town experience more effectively.”

The roadshow exemplified the seamless synergy between air connectivity, product innovation, and strategic destination marketing. Van Schalkwyk added, “With direct flights to Cape Town from Paris and Amsterdam stronger than ever, thanks to our trusted partners Air France KLM, our commitment to growing European visitor numbers is steadfast and optimistic.”

Aquila Collection’s collaboration with Air France KLM not only highlights superior travel comfort – from premium lounges to the elegance of Business Class – but also celebrates the enduring partnership dedicated to bringing more visitors to South Africa. With consistently rising interest and seamless connectivity, Aquila Collection is firmly positioned to elevate the Western Cape as the ultimate safari and leisure destination.
