2021 COVID19 UPDATES

Dear Aquila Collection client

We thank you for reaching out during this uncertain time of flight bans and other international regulations possibly impacting your Aquila Collection experience. Firstly, we would like to thank you for choosing Aquila Collection for your Cape Town big 5 safari experience.

While there is currently a lot of confusion, we commit to being by your side during these times and offer solutions as best we can. For guests currently checked-in we are offering a complimentary transfer service from the reserve back to Cape Town in order for them to make onward travel arrangements.

In the event of an upcoming booking we would like to remind all guests that our cancellation policy applies and that we do recommend personal travel insurance cover at the time of booking. It is also recommended that travellers to South Africa have personal travel insurance that includes pandemic and/or Covid19 cover policies and we ask that guests please refer to their insurance policies and travel agents in this regard.

We will however offer penalty free deferments for confirmed bookings. These postponements support the industry and ensure you can return to South Africa shortly to enjoy a Cape Town safari. Deferments and postponements will be valid for a period of 24 months from the original date of arrival and no additional charges will be levied to the postponed arrangements.

Please note that the South African internationals borders and ports do not restrict any nationality and the current South African regulations do not restrict our offering in any way. This therefore means that while there might be flight inconveniences – we are still able to offer the services booked and paid for.

  • Vouchers will be issued immediately via email.
  • Requests must be made with valid booking reference numbers and contact details.
  • Vouchers are valid for 24 months from original date of arrival for the same product as originally booked. No penalties, surcharges, seasonal changes or rate increases will apply.
  • Overnight bookings will receive an additional R200.00 credit to be used on additional services or activities while staying at any of our properties.
  • Vouchers are transferable but cannot be exchanged for cash or any other service.
  • Voucher are not refundable.

Our Big 5 reserves are open and the current LEVEL 1 Risk Adjusted Strategy does not prohibit any safari services or experiences offered by the Aquila Collection.

Please note that our standard cancellation policy applies for all bookings from 01 November 2020. 

We are however offering penalty free date changes for a period of up to 24 months from the original date of arrival – for bookings up until 31 January 2022.

As per our cancellation terms guests are encouraged to have personal travel insurance including Covid19 curtailment or cancellation cover.

In the unlikely event of future pandemic related international travel bans, we reserve our right to consult and make relevant updates to our standard cancellation policy.

In all cases, we will review extraordinary circumstances on an ad-hoc basis.

Our standard cancellation policy makes special provisions in the event of a positive COVID19 PCR test result relating to a confirmed Aquila Collection guest.

Reservation refunds of any kind may be delayed due to the COVID restrictions and availability of personnel over this period.

Guests who booked with a third party, booking portal or travel company must contact them for further assistance with their bookings.
