AQUILA COLLECTION REOPENING UPDATE
OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER 2020 OPERATIONS:
On 01 October 2020, South Africa partially re-opened its borders to international travellers, and although there is excitement in the air, the road to recovery is still a long road ahead.
Therefore our head office and reserve operations need to be managed in a phased manner to allow for structured reopening. Please see the following updates regarding our Cape Town Head Office and private game reserves.
OUR HEAD OFFICE:
Please note that the Aquila Collection head office remains closed under lock down level 1 and further announcements will be made in this regard. The core head office communication and admin functions are managed remotely and offers limited reception and reservations service via telephone: +27214307260, email: res@aquilasafari.com or info@inverdoorn.com, and live chat via the reserve websites.
Marketing and trade relations are also available to assist our trade partners and continue important rates distribution, contracting and other related services.
OUR GAME RESERVES:
Since the expected arrival of international leisure guests from restricted regions, we are reopening our reserves in a phased response to match leisure traveller demand.
During August and September, leisure travel within South Africa was allowed under the various risk adjusted strategy regulations and both Aquila Private Game Reserve and Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve reopened their doors for limited operations on weekends only.
From 01 October, the following reserve arrival and operational schedules have been put in place:
AQUILA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE:
- Overnight safari accommodation is closed on Monday and Tuesday nights.
- Day trips are only available on Saturdays and day trips are limited to our Afternoon Safari programme only.
- We currently do not offer transfer services, but will consider the request based on group size or private transfer.
- Corporate visits, team building and conference facilities are reopened and can be negotiated with the corporate teams via corporate@aquilasafari.com
INVERDOORN PRIVATE GAME RESERVE:
- Overnight safari accommodation is closed on Monday and Tuesday nights.
- This property is currently not offering day trip programmes.
- We currently do not offer transfer services to Inverdoorn.
KUGANHA TENDED CAMP:
- This property remains temporarily closed until further notice.
Confirmed bookings that have previously been made on the days that the reserves are closed for business will be contacted to kindly rebook on a day that is convenient, take up a postponement voucher, be serviced at Inverdoorn as Aquila will not operate on Mondays and Tuesdays, or apply for a refund.
Should a group booking be required that cannot be serviced as per the above mentioned schedule, we will do our best to accommodate the arrangement with reasonable notice. Please contact groups@aquilacolleciton.com to make these special requests.
Please be reminded that COVID19 protocols have been put in place at all premises for the health and safety of our guests and staff. The protocols have been certified by The Tourism Business Council of South Africa and the World Travel and Tourism Council.
