Cape Town, April 2024

Cape Town, South Africa – The highly anticipated CapeTown100 event by Aquila Collection returned for its second edition on April 10, 2024, at an exclusive venue, gathering industry peers, partners, and friends for an evening of celebration and connection. Held during WTM Africa, this by-invitation-only affair has quickly become a highlight on the annual calendar, showcasing the best of Cape Town’s hospitality and tourism industry.

In its milestone 10th year, WTM Africa coincided with Aquila Collection’s own significant achievement: 25 years of offering unforgettable safaris in Cape Town. Adding to the commemorative spirit, Durbanville Hills, the esteemed wine partner and a brand under Heineken, also marked its 25th anniversary in 2024.

Guests were treated to an introduction of the Durbanville Hills Cape Portrait collection, offering a glimpse into Cape Town’s unique essence. The wine maker eloquently described Cape Town as a vibrant blend of natural beauty, creative energy, and urban dynamism. The labels of the Cape Portrait collection vividly depict this fusion, showcasing the city’s iconic landmarks, wildlife, and diverse cultural scene. The event provided a platform for guests to experience the essence of Cape Town’s spirit through the lens of exceptional wine craftsmanship.

Cape Town’s allure lies not only in its standard tourist sights but also in its unparalleled wildlife safaris and excursions offered by Aquila Collection. These excursions immerse visitors in the breath-taking natural landscapes just outside the city, offering gam drive sightings of majestic wildlife such as lions, elephants, and rhinos. Aquila Collection’s commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism has made Cape Town even more unique and desirable as a destination.

CapeTown100 by Aquila Collection was honoured to partner with Love Cape Town, the official tourism authority of the City of Cape Town, further amplifying the event’s significance in promoting the city’s tourism offerings. The enchanting musical performances by Acoustic Element set the perfect ambiance, complemented by the exquisite bubbles from Pongrácz upon arrival and the refreshing premium cocktails on tap courtesy of Kegtails.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Alderman James Vos, MEC for Economic Growth, Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism, and David Frost, CEO of SATSA. Together, they celebrated a decade of WTM Africa and a quarter-century of Aquila Collection’s exceptional wildlife excursions in Cape Town.

The CapeTown100 gathering by Aquila Collection during Africa Travel Week, did not only to celebrate milestones but also to created meaningful connections within the industry. It is a proud platform for valuable networking and collaboration, shining a spotlight on Cape Town and the unforgettable experiences offered by Aquila Collection.

Aquila Collection partners and friends in the business of showcasing the wonders of Cape Town are reminded to mark their calendars for the 2025 gathering – to be held on the first night of the 2025 edition of ATM Africa.
