Aquila Collection’s recent fam trip, named “The Ultimate Cape Town Safari Experience”, took place from May 16 to May 22, 2023. In an extraordinary effort to promote travel and tourism between Poland and South Africa, this collaboration was made possible through a partnership between Aquila Collection, Cany B Global Events, Travel Advance, and Turkish Airlines. Turkish Airlines, a world-class airline known for its comfort and connectivity, played a pivotal role in emphasising the convenient route between Poland and Cape Town.
Joining us on ” The Ultimate Cape Town Safari Experience”, Karolina Walczowska, a prominent Polish media journalist from Onet Podróże, covers her exciting trip to Cape Town, highlighting her Big 5 safari experience with Aquila Collection.
The fam trip presented a comprehensive introduction to Cape Town, showcasing the Aquila Collection Big 5 safaris and the captivating winelands. The itinerary was thoughtfully curated, offering a range of authentic and exciting activities for every participant.
“It’s no secret that Africa hides many fantastic parks and reserves where you can observe animals in their natural habitat,” Karolina remarks. While Kenya and Tanzania remain popular wildlife destinations, many Polish travellers are choosing South Africa for a holiday or safari experience, favouring Cape Town for its surrounding coastlines, vineyards, and game reserves.
Overnight Safari Just Outside The City
Our guests were invited to experience Cape Town’s unique, local culture and vibrant atmosphere before embarking on an overnight, Big 5 safari just two hours from the city centre. “We set off at dawn, leaving Table Mountain behind in an orange glow. Cape Town was charming, I can’t remember when I’ve been so enchanted by a city,” Karolina remarks about her travels to the reserve.
Arriving at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve the cool autumn air greeted guests as they were invited to enjoy a rooftop breakfast overlooking the beauty of the reserve. Offering traditional cuisine and world-class, luxury amenities, Karolina mentions “endlessly enjoying fresh fruit and yoghurt, oatmeal and hot chakalaka (an aromatic African vegetable stew) with poached eggs.”
For a luxurious, overnight safari in the middle of the reserve, Kuganha Tented Camp provided a one-of-a-kind stay in the heart of the wilderness. Likening her stay at Inverdoorn Safari to being on the set of the novel, “In Desert and Wilderness” by Henryk Sienkiewicz, Karolina’s amazement of the elephants, who sometimes come to drink water from a small pool near the accommodation, adds to the charm and splendour of “The Ultimate Cape Town Safari Experience”.

In the last rays of the African sun, our fam trip guests were invited on a sunset game drive to explore the majestic landscape and exciting wildlife at Aquila Private Game Reserve and Spa.
“As I was getting into a nine-seater off-road car, not really expecting what animals we would see, just a few kilometres after entering the reserve, we saw a family of elephants eating fruit”, karolina states, recalling her emotional experience seeing elephants in their natural habitat for the first time in her life.

Led by experienced South African guides, the fam trip guests enjoyed a traditional African Big 5 safari game drive, with amazing sightings of elephants, hippos, zebra, lions, rhinos, and more.
