STRUISBAAI HARBOUR: OPENS CATCH COOK RESTAURANT

On the southernmost tip of Africa, an easy 2 ½ hours drive from Cape Town lies the quaint fishing village of Struisbaai. In prime position, at the traditional working harbour, is the newly developed Two Oceans Waterfront.

The Two Oceans Waterfront is set to become the tourism hub for visitors ticking off their bucket list: “the southernmost tip of Africa” item. Recently opened, right on the beach at this iconic site, is the 600+ seater Catch Cook Restaurant & Beach Bar.

With an indoor and outdoor seating area, patrons can chill out with their feet in the sand and watch the local fishermen go about their daily tasks, or dig in and indulge in the “eat all you can” buffet breakfast. A festive season menu allows for a casual setup for guests do a self-service order, delivered to their table.

The restaurant is open daily from 08h00 to 22h00, is Halaal friendly, and although focussing on seafood, the menus include burgers, steaks, beef ribs, as well as some great vegetarian options. This venue is an exceptional option for Corporate events and year end functions.

There are a host of exciting activities on offer at the Two Oceans Waterfront. These will include adrenalin High Speed Inflatable Boat Trips, Sunset Cruises, Scenic Eco Boat Trips, Fishing Charters, Kayaks, and a Kids Adventure Centre with Jungle Gyms and a Pirate Ship Jumping Castle.

There are a number of job creation initiatives available within this development. One of these will be with local tour guides, who will be given the opportunity to do walking tours to the real tip of Aafrica, as well as cycle tours. These tours will be depart from Struisbaai’s Two Oceans Waterfront daily. The Two Oceans Waterfront will be hosting events such as art & photography exhibitions, boating & fishing competitions as well as concerts, with the line-up for December including Biggy, Albert Frost & Bok Van Blerk.

Bok Van Blerk is performing on New Years Eve at 15h00 and at 20h00.

The Catchcook Restaurant and Beach Bar is arguably the best venue to watch the Struisbaai New Year’s Eve fireworks display. Future developments for the Struisbaai’s Two Oceans Waterfront, include an eco friendly, re-used, re-cycled, shipping container hotel – perfectly suited for the

traditional working harbour. It will offer 5 star accommodation and service at 4 star rates.

Using the best interior design artists available in the country, this hotel is set to become a destination in its own right. The Catchcook Restaurant & Beach Bar will be adding a wrap-around deck, taking advantage of the unparalleled, breath-taking views of the beautiful beaches, slipway activities and traditional working harbour, where local fishermen can be seen off-loading their catch at the soon to be developed fish market. Whale Watching charters and beach horse rides are also on the cards.
